Manotick Backyard Ultra FAQ
What size tent am I allowed?
You are allowed to set up a 10x10 tent, or a tent smaller than that footprint if you wish. Setup of tents will be along Ann Street near the start/finish line. We will chalk mark and label spaces numerically for participants. At bib pickup, participants will pick a number out of a hat and that number will correspond to their tent allotment. There will be a map of the allotments provided to participants at bib pickup.
When do I set up my tent and where do I park?
You will be allowed to set up your tent between 5:15-6:45am. The road at which your tent is on must be cleared out by 6:45am and you will not be able to park beside your tent as the road is closed for runners at 6:45am. You may leave your car parked in the Manotick Mews or the Manotick Arena.
Will there be water available for runners?
We will have water available near the starting corral for runners of all races throughout the race.
Will there be porta potties?
Yes there will be porta potties. A porta potty will be positioned at the halfway mark for the MBU as well as 4 at Race Headquarters.
How the Race Works
Course: A 6.7 km (4.167 mile) loop that must be completed by all runners.
Timing: Every loop starts exactly one hour after the previous one.
Starting: All participants must be in the starting corral when the bell sounds for each lap.
There will be a 3min, 2min and 1min countdown bell.
Finishing: Runners must complete the loop within the one-hour time limit. Runners than MUST do a quick check in with our volunteers
at the finish line to let them know you have completed the loop.
Winner: The last runner standing after completing a lap alone is the winner.
Results: All other participants are considered to have "Did Not Finish" (DNF).
